The classical and jazz magazine RONDO has found a new partner for its design and public image in the Munich-based agency das formt.
The classical and jazz magazine RONDO has found a new partner for its design and visual identity in the Munich-based agency das formt – Büro für Kommunikation & Design. As a first major step, the agency completely revamped the magazine’s graphic design. The key challenge was to strike the right balance between modernity and professionalism, between continuity and change. The magazine has a broad and loyal readership, so ensuring brand recognition was crucial. Great emphasis was placed on optimizing readability and creating a clean, clear layout to do justice to the magazine’s journalistic character.
Additionally, the magazine was expanded to include a large subscriber section, RONDOplus. In the new 32-page supplement, subscribers will find additional articles and CD reviews. With the RONDOplus supplement, the offering for subscribers is expanded to include a comprehensive editorial section. The complete redesign had to be completed between two issues and applied to the recently published RONDO Issue 5/07. The redesign and layout of the new issue were completed in less than four weeks.
While the redesigned RONDO debuted with its new look in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland on October 17, formt is currently working on a new website that will reflect the magazine’s new visual identity and will be expanded to include numerous features as well as an animated e-paper.
