Round Table 34 Memmingen invites traumatized Japanese teenagers to Germany.
The Round Table 34 Memmingen service club, in collaboration with Round Table Germany, has launched a major project to provide aid to Japan. A group of trauma-affected young people aged 13–20 from the disaster-stricken area on Japan’s east coast spent two weeks in Memmingen around Easter. The goal was to give these severely traumatized young people a sense of hope, new inspiration, and a positive outlook, which was achieved with great success thanks to many supporters and volunteers. The Munich-based agency das formt supported the service club with communications and public relations. The idea behind the Kizuna Project was not only well-received by members and the immediate community; local, regional, and national media also covered our project. Among others, Bayerischer Rundfunk, TV Allgäu, local newspapers, and even ZDF reported on it. Japanese television also covered the project and the visit.
